First they came for Adachi, then Alioto …

Campers,

In this Age of Trump the devils are freed to prey upon Saints.

I spent a couple of hours yesterday at the DOJ @850 Bryant watching
the effects of a rogue police operation designed to further denigrate
the reputation of my 20 year friend and comrade, Jeff Adachi.

This evening at 6:30pm I’ll be at whatever school the D-Triple C is
meeting at where the #1 item on their agenda is to smear the name
of my good friend, Angela Alioto.

That’s on Turk Street and only wonks will attend.

I’ll be there but frankly, as I age, it pisses me to have to even
leave my chair to defend my friends from these types of
opportunistic and scurrilous attacks on their betters by agencies
that have a platform form from which to toss their chamber pots,
be it from the D-Triple C stage or the podium allotted to the
the Chief of Police.

Hey, I love David Campos and have supported him in numerous
runs for office.

He and I are pretty much simpatico on political stands.

I am much closer to the lady that ‘Joe Fire’ used to call …

‘Double-AA’ … Angela Alioto with whom I seldom agree on
major political agendas.

Bottom line is that Angela is a great person whose career
is a solid history of working for civil rights and two of my
three grandkids are African-Americans and Angela was my
friend way before they were eve born.

Hell, she brought he and my daughter up (he once turned
an unassisted triple-play in the little leagues – only been
done 14 times in 150 years in the bigs) …

Brought him up to her ranch to school him in riding horses.

Frankly, I’m tired of defending my best friends and family
from attacks by right-wing hateful bigots only trying to get
a little more spotlight for themselves.

I’m almost helpless to help them.

I mean, what can I possibly do?

All I have here is an audience and a keyboard and the internet.

Hmmm.

Go Giants!

Morning quote

Social media has effectively put an end to any right to privacy we may have thought we still enjoyed. But companies have been selling our information for many years before the internet. SPIRO

Campers,

Come to this thing for Tim and Marke who have
kept the re-incarnation of the Guardian going for
these last 6 years.

We owe it to them!

Many of you won public office at least in part to
the support of Bruggman and Redmond.

Bring your friends.

The rest of you come because you want to support
the best free outlet for SF news, political and artistic
news left around.

And, for fun.

Folks, this place can hold 2,500 people.

Imagine if we can get it rocking.

I will dance or fall down trying and so should you.

Be there are be square.

Never heard that one have you, youngsters?

Go Giants!

I solemnly swear

Test run.

Test run.

See that last 3 by Curry?

San Francisco tonight feels like Richmond, VA must
have felt like in 1865.

The Yankees came to town and took it all away.

Go Giants!

The alley behind the alley and dead cyclists

Thank you Supervisor Ronen- you really work hard. I really wish you had more influence.

I’m writing about two things:

The dead zone from Four Barrel Coffee to the corner of 14th and Valencia

Second, the destruction of your free flea market tables Saturday Project by somebody tearing down the signs, so that when they come to set up the free tables for homeless to sell their meager goods, the spaces are full of SUVs and autos.
The City Workers arrive every Saturday morning to shut off the street, and the street is full because somebody came by the night before and tore down all the signs that say No Parking for Tomorrow.

Let the people choose the police chief

Let the people choose the police chief!

Been something like one hundred years ago since we had a police chief.

He was crooked as a hound dog’s back leg.

He got

Let the people choose the police commission!

Let the people choose the OCC director!

Let the people choose police recruits!

Make civilians 15% of the police force.

No lateral transfers!

Require a college degree for all recruits!

Road testing plastic teeth at Gascon’s SFPD panel

12-17-15
Cops physically afraid of POA
(Dawg only Public speaker)

Gascon is a friggin’ genius to be certain.    Oh, the Mayor knows it.
The cops and their union certainly know it.
A couple of years ago an SFPD sergeant called my grandchildren, “an abomination” and suggested that another officer might have to kill children like them and that they were justified in doing so.
That’s the level of crude, racist animal that Gary Delagnes and Greg Suhr and Marty Halloran have recruited to patrol the streets in the City of San Francisco.
That shocked a few
Including me
“So what?” said POA
And, George Gascon ordered an investigation
“Don’t talk to him!!!” said POA
Let me try and simplify this for those of you who actually work for a living and can’t follow the minutae of the subject or have access to only the managed major media outlets.
The SFPD has a budgeted allotment of around 2,250 officers.    They keep around 300 of those position empty.    That’s so that the already generously (ha!) paid force can count on overtime to pay their mortgages in Navato or Walnut Creek or whatever (where they are registered Republicans who hate San Francisco values).
They put another 200-300 on desk duty that could be done by civilians.     Efforts by the the Board of Supervisors in every budget session over the last 15 years that I’ve watched have queried this.
“Why do we have a lower percentage of
civilian staff than any country in the State?”
The cops always promise to improve and they never do.    It pressed on it by the Board of Supes they sometimes (always with permission of the Mayor) don’t even show up for BOS hearings on the matter.
So, keep this in mind, the cops and their avaracious union are shielded from accountability by corrupt mayors.     For 100 years.    Because the police chiefs are only accountable to the Mayor (he always has control of the choice of Chief through the Police Commission whose appointees are always tilted so’s a majority supports his choice).
This isn’t working now.    Cause, the cops get to recruit and restock their force by choosing the new recruits or, ‘lateral hires’.   And, it’s these ‘laterals’ who frightened me.     They are the ‘puppies raised in the barn’ in Orwell-speak.
So, you’re looking at, maybe, 1,600 cops available to be on patrol/stakeout or undercover.
